Position: Campaign Manager for Kristin Bahner for State Representative (District 37B)
Kristin Bahner for State Representative (37B Maple Grove) is seeking a Campaign Manager to join an established but ever-growing team for the 2022 election cycle. The Campaign Manager would work closely with the candidate and her kitchen cabinet team, field staff and volunteers to lead an organized, enthusiastic campaign.
The Campaign Manager should be team focused and oversee all aspects of the campaign, including caucus and convention strategy, day-to-day operations, fundraising, communications, finance, field, recruitment and retention of volunteers, and candidate scheduling.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute the campaign strategy in consultation with the candidate & kitchen cabinet
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the campaign
Manage campaign budget
Manage campaign team and volunteers
Lead fundraising and communications efforts
Serve as primary contact for the DFL House Caucus
Serve as primary contact for print and mail vendors
Develop relationships with key local stakeholder groups and maintain engagement
Devise a campaign timeline and schedule
Manage candidate’s schedule and event appearances
Manage social media presence and calendar
Track and report on campaign goals and metrics
Qualifications
At least one cycle of campaign experience (including working with printing and mail vendors)
Detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
Strong Team focus and collaborative work style
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Solution oriented and positive attitude
Posses strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong experience working with Excel, Word, Google Drive, Sheets
Familiarity with or experience with caucus and convention strategy (preferred, not required)
NPG VAN and Mail Program Experience (preferred)
Canva & SquareSpace (nice to have, not required)
Salary
$15 per hour, for 20 hours per month (March to August, and December) and 40 hours per month for three months (September, October & November), with an estimated paid time investment of 270 hours ($4050). A win bonus of $2,500.

Kristin is running for a 3rd term in the MN House. In 2018 she successfully flipped a district from red to blue after 36 years. In 2020 she was re-elected winning all but one precinct in the district. While the district is solidly purple and trending bluer over time. This remains a competitive race and will require a vigorous campaign to hold this suburban district and maintain the House majority in 2022.
In 2016, she was an organizer for the MN Women’s March that brought 100,000 people to the MN State Capitol in the largest single-day event in history. Kristin is proud of her activist roots.
Kristin is an IT Consultant of over 20+ years, with an emphasis on software development and team management which shows in her management style with her campaign team. She is highly collaborative and places high value on innovation, flexibility, and true dedication to the people she serves, her community and her team.
Kristin is fiercely loyal to her family and friends, among her best qualities as a candidate, she is open, approachable, and authentic which makes this moderate, goal-oriented and solutions-based candidate an excellent fit for her blended district of moderate conservatives, progressives, and Independents. She has a proven track record as a bridge builder and good reputation with leaders across Maple Grove and Osseo.
Her passions lie in access to affordable healthcare, prescription drugs and childcare, strong leadership in elections and democratic process, and a leader on women’s issues and IT issues. She currently serves as Vice Chair of Human Services, and on the Health Services, State Government and Elections, as well as the Redistricting Committees. She was twice appointed to the Governor’s Blue-Ribbon Commission on IT (now Technical Advisory Council) and newly elected Vice Chair of the Legislative Commission on Cybersecurity.
Position: Volunteer Social Media Manager
Roles & Responsibilities
The Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, creating, and scheduling social media posts (Facebook & Instagram) as well as editing/adding content to the social media calendar. Additionally, the social media manager is responsible for monitoring pertinent social media pages to keep a current pulse on the state of the social media landscape in the district. The social media manager assists in building the grassroots audience of the campaign's social media presence and reports to the Campaign Manager.
This position is an unpaid internship or volunteer position and will require 5-10 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and all work can be done from home. This position can begin immediately and will be active through November 2020 with the opportunity to extend the internship/volunteer position. The team is happy to work with applicants in coordinating with colleges and universities to provide credit in exchange for your contributions to our team.
The central role and responsibilities of the Social Media Manager:
Draft engaging content to be shared on the campaigns social media pages
Review and edit or make additions to the campaign social media calendar
Schedule posts in accordance with the social media calendar
Social media pages should have a minimum of 2 posts per day
Monitor pre-identified Facebook groups (neighborhood groups, opponent, etc.) and alert Campaign Manager to the landscape (strife within the groups, an opportunity for Kristin to chime in, opponent campaign events, etc.)
Manage social media campaign events
Create Event with accurate event information (Work closely with Campaign Manager)
Monitor RSVP’s
Post event updates that are engaging within the event
Recruit people to attend event w/ social media invites
Create and execute strategy to increase page likes and followers (In coordination with Campaign Manager)

Will have strong verbal and written communication skills, an ability to work independently, belief in the progressive cause and re-electing Rep. Kristin Bahner, will have a positive attitude and superb customer service skills, and will be someone who is focused, results-driven, and able to work efficiently.

Onboarding: The campaign will provide you with all of the tools necessary during the onboarding process, including access to the candidates social media sites, a list of content generators and pages to monitor, and an orientation session with Campaign Manager. The onboarding process is expected to last from 1-3 weeks.
